Buying a home can be a very smart move. That being said, renting can be a better option for some, depending on the circumstances. Current interest rates fluctuate, but there are tax benefits and equity buildup when owning a home. For some. it actually can be cheaper to invest in a mortgage than pay a landlord’s rent.
Before deciding to buy a home there are questions that you should ask yourself. One of the most important things to consider is to figure out how long you plan on staying in a home you would buy. If you plan on staying in your house just a few years, you may be better off continuing to renting.
Another question to ask yourself is whether you are ready to take on the responsibilities of owning a home. When owning a home there will be basic home maintenance repairs that will need to be done. Don’t get discouraged by this. This is your home, so take pride in it!
For other repairs, There are home warranty programs where for a small fee a licensed professional can assess the problem and make repairs for covered services. In addition, if you decide to buy a home, you’ll be adding your personal touch to make it special to separate your house from the rest! So paint the walls whatever color you want – and if you don’t have one get a dog!
